Desc: Dames de couleurs: Directed by Patricia Gérimont, Jean Claude Taburiaux. Sanata and Dicko are dyers in Mali. Sanata produces coloured bazins in Bamako with her co-wives. Dicko lives in the bush in the Dogon country and dyes indigo loincloths. This film is a journey that takes us from the Dogon village to the big city, from the dark indigo hanging on the banco walls to the brightness of the multicoloured fabrics adorning the Bamako streets. It traces in dotted lines the similarities and differences between these craftswomen, both in the exercise of their art and at the economic and social level. While their expertise is remarkable, both are constantly facing the same challenge: to ensure a dignified life for their children.
